Your Sketch license explained

Here's what you need to know about your Sketch license, based on the questions we get asked the most

? Where can I find the End User License Agreement (EULA)?

You can read the Sketch End User License Agreement here, which is a legal contract between a software application author or publisher and the user of that application.

? How long does my Sketch license last?

Your license is valid for a year from the date you purchase it. For example, if you purchase your license on 2nd October, 2019, you’ll get regular updates to Sketch up to and including 1st October, 2020. To receive updates after that date, you’ll need to renew your license.

An active Sketch license also enables you to upload your documents to our Sketch Cloud service.

? What happens if I don't renew my license?

If you don’t want to renew your license after it expires, you can continue to use the version of Sketch that you have, for as long as you want, but you won’t be able to receive any further updates. You will no longer be able to upload new documents to Sketch Cloud but you can still sign in to Sketch Cloud to view, comment on, and download documents. Any documents you previously uploaded will stay on Cloud until you choose to remove them. If you decide you want to renew at a later date, that’s fine — you’re welcome back at any time.

? Do I need to renew my license to receive fixes?

We split up Sketch releases into regular updates and bug-fix updates. You’ll always be entitled to a bug-fix update for your last version, even after your license has expired.
